Where To: Coffee, Chocolate and Cafe in Brisbane–Part 1
I thought I would do a quick blog post sharing with you some good coffee, chocolate and cafes here in Brisbane. Gosh, this city just offers more and more charms as day goes by! I shall only mention a few at a time so it won’t be too overwhelming, but not to worry, there should be more to come! This is just part 1, guys.
1) Pappa Roti, Market Square, Sunnybank
Malaysian spot. Teh tarik, teh halia (ginger milk tea), milo dinosaur, bandung, and kopi are some of their incredible variety of drinks available. Definitely recommend teh tarik for a taste of Malaysia! Oh, and how can I forget to mention the coffee buns (only $2.50 each!). They are best straight out of the oven, melts in your mouth!
Opens: Everyday till 9pm | Fri – Sat till 10pm
2) Gramercy Espresso & Eats, Wintergarden, Brisbane City
Food freshly baked daily and made to order, right here at Wintergarden, Brisbane. The fingerlicking goodness on the plate you see above is the Poached Pear Brioche with nuts crumble and blueberry sauce. Delish-cious! I’m not usually a fan of poached pear neither am I a sweet tooth kind of person, but this is a winner, totally recommending for anyone for a sweet treat. Gramercy is also the only cafe that brews Reuben Hills coffee from Sydney. They also do super green smoothie (containing fruits and veges ranging from pear, apple, kiwi to spinach and other fresh produce) and guess what, they brew their own chai tea. Not many cafe does that in Brissie! Yum!
Opens: Mon – Fri 7am – 5pm | Sat – Sun 8am – 3pm
3) Noosa Chocolate Factory, Adelaide St, Brisbane City
Best hot chocolate range in Brisbane. Seriously. My pick of the bunch is Rocky Road Hot Chocolate. Or if you’re not into that sorta taste there are other milk chocolate and dark chocolate varieties available, including coffee. They use real chocolate, bliss!
Monday to Thursday 8am-7pm
Friday 8am-9pm
Saturday and Sunday 11am-6pm
4) Monty’s Chocolates, Latrobe Tce, Paddington
Delicious thick hot chocolate, that you need the spoon to literally eat the chocolate not simply sip it. How cute is the cup! I fell in love.
Not normally a fan of milkshake but I totally would come back for this milkshake. On a hot summer day or just when you want to feel refreshed without having to order coffee or tea. This is perfect. Ice cold and fluffy froth. A range of chocolate mix are available, such as chocolate and mint, chocolate and orange, etc. Definitely worth checking out this cute little spot on the Paddington Antique Centre area!
5) Chica Cino, Nundah Village
Tucked away discreetly in Nundah Village, Chica Cino offers yummy bagels and Campos coffee. Perfect breakfast or brunch spot. You can get half a dozen or a dozen of bagels of all sorts of flavours to take home. Blueberry, wholegrain, poppyseed, etc.
And there we have it! Just a few places you might like to check out if you are visiting Brisbane or perhaps you already are a Brisbanite looking to check out some new places ;)
